Oh Christmas Tree!

There is no shortage of help when it comes to putting up the Christmas trees.  We helped Grandma with the upstairs tree on Friday!  What fun!  Christopher was very good at taking the ornaments out of the container and handing them to everyone.  Richard did a great job hanging ornaments on the tree.  No worries, they are all shatter-proof plastic.

Christopher was very busy as the site supervisor.  He was doing a lot of standing, but no walking on Friday.

Richard was the chief tree designer.  Anything to get on a step stool.

Almost Disaster!!!

Richard found a gingerbread house kit in the pantry, and on Thanksgiving we built our house.  There were many of pieces of candy to put on the house, some big, some small, and hey, some just right to fit in our NOSE.  Richard got four pieces up his nose before Mommy noticed.  Conveniently, Daddy got the whole thing on camera... instead of stopping Richard from doing it.  Hhhmmm.  Grandma helped us push the candy out, and we were saved from going to the emergency room.  Catastrophe averted.

Building our house.

Eating some candy?

Putting it in our nose!  Is Mommy watching?   Nope.

Showing Mommy now, but not scared!

Grandma helps to save the day!  Let's not do that again, okay?

Giving Thanks

We have many things to be thankful for this year.  Our Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Papa, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and Friends... the list goes on.  We are thankful that all are happy and hope all stay healthy this coming year.

We are thankful to be getting a new cousin next year!  Aunt Liz and Uncle David, we can't wait to meet Baby White in July!

We are especially thankful to be Brothers.  We ADORE each other and play together so well.  We worry about each other when we are apart.  We make each other giggle and be silly.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!  We love you!

Turkey Hats?  Really, Mom?

The Armadillo

One of our favorite places to go is The Domain.  We have be-friended an armadillo statue there and spend hours playing on it-- or at least until Mom and Dad say it's time for ice cream.

Christopher pets his head.

Richard drives it.

Daddy has a good time too.

Ride 'Em Cowboy

We were riding horses today after lunch.  Richard's idea of a cowboy song is singing "Elvira."  Yes, we were singing "Giddy up, oom boppa, oom boppa, mow mow.  High ho, Silver! Away!"

King of the "Little People"

If you have little kids, you have Little People.  Christopher can commonly be found with a Little People in each hand, and our Little People city has grown over the last few years.  We started out with the Thanksgiving Feast and the Nativity last year.  Then came the Haunted House, Hayrack Ride, Mayflower, Santa and Reindeer, and finally the Christmas Tree Town.  Daddy hates the Little People, because they are always on the floor and scattered.

Christopher loves them.  He loves mixing holidays and letting Santa drive the Mayflower with the reindeer sleeping below deck.  Christopher loves being the big guy in a little world.

I Love Dinosaurs, From Afar

Richard took Mommy and Daddy to the Walking with Dinosaurs live arena show.  Richard wore his Brachiosaurus sweatshirt for the occasion.  Our seats were in the very back of the arena, so the dinosaurs could not eat us, and Daddy was our protector.

The show started, and it turned out to be very dark, very loud, and the dinosaurs were VERY big and scary.  Mommy tried to take a picture, but this was the best we could get.

The baby dinosaurs hatched out of the eggs.  The Allosaurus (left) ran up to the nest and ATE one of the babies.  Richard said, "Mommy, I want to go Bye-Bye."  We left at intermission.  We were not ready for the dinosaurs.

Table for Two

Lately, Christopher very much wants to be a "big boy" like Richard.  He watches Richard's every move and imitates it.  Christopher must have the exact same food on his plate as Richard, or he will toss the plate on the floor.  And then the cup.  And then the placemat.  And then he says, "Ppppbbbttttt."  Christopher has chosen the seat right next to Richard at their little table.  Little Brothers...  *sigh*

Richard was having a bad hair day.

Hmmmm.  What's Richard doing now?

Our "New Dog" Annie

We had a house guest for about two weeks, a little yorkie named Annie.  Mom was not so thrilled with Annie's housetraining skills, but Christopher and Richard loved her.  On the way home from school one afternoon, Richard said, "Mom, I have TWO dogs.  Betsy and Annie."  Annie went back to her house the next day.  This made Mommy very happy and Richard very sad.

Forgotten Pumpkins

Mommy almost forgot to take a picture of our school projects for Halloween this year.  We each made pumpkins.  Christopher finger painted his orange, and Richard colored and embellished his pumpkin.

Using the Timer

While shopping this morning for Grandma's birthday present, Richard discovered a nice bench outside the store to sit on.
Richard:  We need to sit right here.
Mommy:  Okay.  We'll sit down for a few minutes, then we can go home for lunch.
Richard:  My watch says that we need to sit for 3 minutes.
Mommy:  Okay.  3 minutes, and then we will go home for lunch.
Richard:  My watch says it's not hungry, but it wants chocolate milk.  And so does Christopher.

(Note: Richard does not have a watch)

In The Car - November 14

We were in the car on the way to Sportball and enjoying the Phineas and Ferb soundtrack this morning.  We discovered that it's fun to hold hands and sing and dance in our seats.

The "Betty Bongos" song is our favorite with "Disco Minature Golfing Queen" as a close second.  Mom's favorite is still "Squirrels in My Pants," but we don't let her play it too often.

October Recap

October was filled with pumpkin patches, farms, trick or treating, and all things Fall.  We both loved the pumpkin patch!

We visited Crowe's Nest Farm with our friends Rhys and Harper.  We saw our first cow milking demonstration.

We only "trick or treated" at a few houses this year.  We will be true professionals next year!

Christopher lost some of his doctor costume at school, so he was an impromptu pumpkin. A cute one at that.

Everything about Halloweeen is exciting to Richard.  He decided that he wanted to be a pumpkin back in July and never changed his mind.  Once the big day rolled around, we insisted on wearing our skeleton jammies under our costume and our bear slippers.  It made a nice ensemble.
